This pours deep purple-black. It has lifted almost overripe plummy-raisin and blackberry fruit nose that reminds me of vintage port. There is also violet florality and quite generous oak vanilla and spice. It is full bodied, dense, very smooth and sweet-edged, but amid all this fruit concentration, and alcohol heat and considerable twiggy tannin, the sweetness serves well. The length is excellent.
